Dear Colleague and Friends,
The planning for the AAGT conference in Philadelphia in 2010 is in full swing. As you can see on this web site we have a beautiful venue selected in the historical part of Philadelphia with lots of possibilities to enjoy being there.
Pre-conference workshops and marathons have become a vital part of AAGT conferences. Attendees often say that the pre-conference workshops set the pace for the conference and are wonderful ways to meet new people and have a more in depth conference experience. For presenters, the pre-conference workshops and marathons offer an opportunity to present a full day or half-day workshop which will be held one or two days prior to the conference start.
The presenters for these workshops and marathons will receive up to 500 USD for a full day offering and up to 250 USD for a half-day offering in total depending on the amount of paid attendees and deductions for room rental and coffee breaks. If you are interested in having a workshop or marathon considered for a pre-conference offering, please fill in the application (below) and email it to peer-review@philadelphia2010.aagt2.org. The deadline for the proposal submission is July 15, 2009.
The pre-conference workshop proposals will be blind peer reviewed and you will be notified by the Pre-conference Workshop Committee if your proposal is accepted. Thank you for your interest and we are all looking forward to a great pre-conference and conference experience!
Warm Regards,
Ann Bowman and Tine van Wijk
Co-Chairs of the Pre-Conference Workshop Committee

PRE-CONFERENCE WORKSHOP
PROPOSAL COVER LETTER
The theme of this conference, Continuity & Change: Gestalt Therapy Now, is an attempt to bring the Gestalt community, and the world of psychotherapy in general, up-to-date on what aspects of our theory and practice remain stable or static and what is shifting or changing. In what ways is “continuity” a valued aspect of the Gestalt approach? What do we cling to? In addressing the concept of “change,” we are interested in proposals that speak to Gestalt therapy’s theories, philosophies and methods of change. For example, in what ways are we “agents of change,” as contrasted with therapeutic approaches that advocate the therapist being a “change agent?”
We are attempting to handle all pre-conference workshop proposals via Internet. You can copy and paste these two forms from the web site into your word processing program (e.g. Word, Notepad, WordPad), or you can download them in MS Word format (see below in this paragraph). You can also request an email version of the forms by sending your request to pre-conferencecoverandform@philadelphia2010.aagt2.org. Then, complete both forms. When finished, either copy and paste them into an email message to the Peer Review Committee, or, if you already have the email version of the form, just fill in the address of the Peer Review Committee and identify your post in the subject line as being a "pre-conference workshop poposal." Download MS Word Format:pre-conferencecoverandform

Then, please complete the following pages which have the information specific to your workshop proposal.
